About
Hey there I’m Nils, I’m 18 years old and from The Netherlands.
My blog is mainly about tech stuff like software development. I’ve been interested in building and testing stuff since I was a little kid, and I started programming when I was ~ 14 years old, before that, I enjoyed making HTML websites and 3D model/texture mods for videogames such as Grand Theft Auto. (GTA)
Habbo emulation is what got me into programming, on the net I’m known for writing most of the Habbo Hotel private server software. I started out with VB6 by working on these projects, I got familar/experienced with technologies such as PHP, Java, XHTML/CSS/JavaScript, and .NET languages such as VB.NET and C#. (my favorite!) Server building also involved database systems such as MySQL/MsSQL, so I basically ‘got into it all’ by Habbo server emulation.
Today, I’m done with Habbo emulation and I’m working with different things, such as Microsoft Silverlight now. My passion is multiuser systems like online games etc, I love databases, networking etc. I’m working on my own online game with Silverlight & C#. However, development is kinda idle at the moment because I lack artists for images, themes, stories etc – I’m no designer, gray code is what I do.
I use Microsoft Visual Studio for my work in .NET, Eclipse IDE for the Java stuff and NetBeans/Notepad++ for PHP and the like. Code is poetry for me: I use a clear syntax and document alot. I dislike ‘messy code’ and the non-object oriented approach. My main interests are:
- multi user (online games, servers)
- security and reverse engineering
- creative and simple solutions
About this blog… well it’s around for a year or something now and never was really active. I hope… to make it more active now, I think that blogging is something that you need to get used to. Thanks for visiting me, check back frequently if you find this interesting.
